Topic Sentence:  The author of the story actually loved her Grandmother.

Key Idea: The author didn't show she loved anything but her grandmother.

Supporting Detail: In the article, the author said "I was thirteen when Abuelita requested my help. And it seemed only fair." From what we here from the author describing herself as a disrespectful girl, she appears to come off as a delinquint.  The quote describes her as not really caring for her grandmother.

Commentary:  The paragraph of the quote shows that the emphasis is on being fair. The character only doing the favor because its fair, not because she loves her.  But throughout the article we see that she spends a great deal of time with her grandmother. End in the end it shows she holds much more than fairness towards her Abuelita.

Conclusion:   In conclusion, the author loved her grandmother the entire time.
